Six Social Scientists Receive Inaugural Impact Writing Prize from Social Science Space

Six social and behavioral scientists were recently awarded the 2019 Impact in Action Writing Prize for their submissions detailing how their research makes a valuable difference beyond academia. Four submissions received the top prize from Social Science Space, an online social network sponsored by SAGE Publishing; two focus on education, one on immigration, and one on autism.

ESRC announces winners of national writing competition: Better Lives

The ESRC, in partnership with SAGE Publishing, has announced the winners of its third student writing competition 'Better Lives' where ESRC-funded PhD students were asked to explain how their research has an impact on improving the lives of people. Two winners were picked from 12 finalists with 117 applicants entering the competition in total.





Index announces 2017 Freedom of Expression Awards winners

London, UK. A Chinese political cartoonist forced into exile and a Russian prisoners and LGBT rights activist convicted under the country’s draconian anti-protest law are among the winners of the 2017 Index on Censorship Freedom of Expression Awards, co-sponsored by SAGE Publishing. 

The winners, announced on yesterday evening at a gala ceremony in London, also include a crusading news organisation battling corruption in the Maldives and a group tracking Turkey’s internet shutdowns.

Over $100,000 of funding awarded to support the development of new tools to help social scientists work with big data

SAGE Ocean has announced the winners of its first ever Concept Grants: Quanteda Studio, MiniVAN and Digital DNA Toolbox. Each winner has been awarded $35,000 to support the development of their project.
