Bruce Simons-Morton is a Senior Investigator and Chief of the Prevention Research Branch at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child Health and Human Development, where he has led an intramural research group that studies adolescent health behavior, including substance use, social influence, and novice teenage driving, since 1997. His primary research interests include prevention of early adolescent problem behaviors and motor vehicle crashes among novice young drivers. Dr. Simons-Morton current intramural research focuses on both risk assessment and the development and evaluation of effective intervention. A Past President of the American Academy of Health Behavior, he is the author of over 200 journal articles and three books, including Behavior Theory in Health Promotion Practice and Research (Jones & Bartlett, 2011).
