Received Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania studying "Board Composition and Structure in Human Service Organizations." Currently a chair of Department of Social Welfare and director of Research Center on Social Welfare at Yonsei University.A board member of the Seoul Metropolitan Welfare Foundation, KBS (Korean Public Broadcasting System) Welfare Foundation, and many other Korean foundations. A principal designer of the National Giving & Volunteering Survey in Korea (called "Giving Korea") biannually since 2001 and of the Seoul Metropolitan Panel Survey on Welfare, Giving and Volunteering from 3,000 households (over 8,000 family members).
