Derek Griffith, PhD Vanderbilt University, USA

Derek Griffith is Associate Professor of Medicine, Health, and Society, Associate Professor of General Internal Medicine and Public Health, and Director of the Institute for Research on Men’s Health at Vanderbilt University. He is also a faculty member in the Institute for Medicine and Public Health, the Vanderbilt-Ingram Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research. His work focuses on social influences on identifying and addressing psychosocial, cultural, and environmental determinants of African-American men’s health and well-being. Dr. Griffith specializes in the development and evaluation of intervention designed to improve African-American men’s health status and reduce chronic disease risk, morbidity, and mortality through community-based participatory research. His work is funded by several of the National Institutes of Health.
