Mary Story, PhD, RD Duke University, USA

Mary Story is Professor of Community & Family Medicine and Global Health and Associate Director for Academic Programs at the Duke Global Health Institute. A leading scholar in child and adolescent nutrition and child obesity prevention, she directs the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation national Healthy Eating Research program. Her research has focused primarily on nutrition and diet-related issues of low-income and minority youth and their families, and environmental and behavioral community-based obesity prevention interventions for youth. Dr. Story has been the Principal Investigator on several NIH-funded obesity prevention trials, including the Pathways Study, the Girls Health Enrichment Multi-Site Studies (GEMS), and Bright Start. A member of the Institute of Medicine, she has served on the Standing Committee for Childhood Obesity Prevention and the Food and Nutrition Board.
