Lean Library’s Library Alternatives, the module of the Lean Library browser extension that facilitates alternative routes to full-text resources, will now support eBooks. Acquired by SAGE Publishing earlier this year, the award-winning technology platform allows seamless access to journals, articles, open access content, and now eBooks that are licensed by a user’s library, keeping them from paying for content they already have access to or being discouraged from using content altogether.
Housing over 61,000 concepts, SAGE Publishing’s new Terminology Service is a valuable tool to aid researchers in understanding and exploring key concepts.
It launches with the SAGE Social Science Thesaurus, a multidisciplinary vocabulary of the most important concepts in the social sciences that combines concepts, relationships and definitions. Most of this vocabulary has been created by using semantic text mining to put structure around text content published by SAGE.
Sage has an agreement with Necmettin Erbakan University to publish articles open access. The agreement for participating organizations will run from January 01, 2024 through to December 31, 2024. The details of the agreement are as follows:
To qualify for the agreement, the corresponding author must be affiliated with Necmettin Erbakan University and have an article accepted for publication between between January 01, 2024 and December 31, 2024.
Sage has an agreement with GALILEO to publish articles open access. The agreement for participating organizations will run from January 01, 2024, through to December 01, 2026. The details of the agreement are as follows:
To qualify for the agreement, the corresponding author must be affiliated with either Georgia Gwinnett College, Mercer University and Morehouse School of Medicine and have an article accepted for publication between 1 January 01, 2024 and December 31, 2026.

The three publishers involved reluctantly undertook this action to help clarify important questions of copyright in a digital world.
We welcome today’s decision as it will help to protect the intellectual property rights of authors and publishers who produce high-quality educational materials on which colleges and universities depend.
We have at no time sought damages or to extend copyright protections through this case, merely wanting to bring Georgia State’s practices in line with those at other universities.
