Allan Jonathan Eakle The Johns Hopkins University

A. Jonathan Eakle (Ph.D., University of Georgia) is an Associate Professor and Reading Program Director at The Johns Hopkins University School of Education. His research focuses on how young people use multiple forms of literacy for learning in classrooms and out-of-school settings. Other interests include: art, museum, and multimodal literacies; teacher education and leadership; spatial theories and practices; and international and cultural aspects of literacies. He was co-editor of The Yearbook of the American Reading Forum and is at work on a single-authored book, Cross Cultural Issues in Education. He has served on the Editorial Review Board of Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, International Reading Association.
