Mark Leuchter is Professor of Hebrew Bible and Ancient Judaism at Temple University. His work focuses on the history of the Israelite priesthood, the formation of prophetic texts, and the generation of cultural myths in Jewish antiquity. His recent books include Samuel and the Shaping of Tradition (Oxford, 2013) and The Levites and the Boundaries of Israelite Identity (Oxford, 2017).
