May 11, 2016

London, UK. SAGE Publishing today announces that it is to begin publishing Autism & Developmental Language Impairments (ADLI), a peer-reviewed open access journal supporting and shaping research in the growing field of developmental communication disorders, as of summer 2016.

ADLI seeks to provide an international platform for research covering all areas of atypical language development, as well as related difficulties, interventions and outcomes for individuals with developmental communication difficulties.  The journal aims to be a forum for the dissemination and exchange of information between researchers and practitioners, speech language therapists, specialist teachers, students in language sciences, education and psychology.

Editor-in-Chief Nicola Botting commented:

“We are delighted to launch Autism & Developmental Language Impairments with SAGE, a publisher with a leading portfolio of HSS open access journals. SAGE’s strong existing collection of Psychology & Counselling and Language and Linguistics journals, mean that we are confident that ADLI will form an invaluable bridge across disciplines and act as a space to share and debate research within the developmental communication disorders field. It is of vital importance that both academic and professional audiences are freely able to access world-leading research into developmental communication, and ADLI aims to provide that opportunity.”

Karen Phillips, Editorial Director, SAGE Publishing, additionally remarked:

Autism & Developmental Language Impairments marks a key addition to our growing portfolio of HSS open access journals. Together with such an acclaimed editorial board, we look forward to developing the international reach and scope of the journal’s high-quality content in order to help shape this evolving field.”
