Early years placements
This is an excellent text that supports students to develop their pedagogical practice, whilst on practical work experience. The text provides a range of thoughtful reflection activities, for developing practitioners to consider. The text supports those undertaking EYTS and QTS programmes of study.
Students did not use the book to develop their own practice
This book provides a range of practical tasks and case studies to prepare students for their placement experience. The book is suitable for level 3 students and undergraduates embarking on a teaching career.
Useful book for students doing the Early Childhood Studies course. Suggest they read prior to starting placement to give them a litte insight into what being a student in placement entails. Accessible and straightforward.
Although the EYPS standards are due to change in a couple of months time, this text book gives a good introduction of the historical development of Early Years provision and gives a good guide why placements are valuable and vital for the EY practitoners.
a useful guide for staff and students
a good general introduction to early years placements, with accessible language which is appropriate for level 4 students. However the emphasis on the EYPS is not relevant to studies in Wales.
A good read for preparing for placement, good prepartion. Would help build confidence for newer students.
this book was brilliant for settingup placements for degree students. I shared it with the team and we found it helpful to prepare students and placements.
