SAGE begins publishing Nordic Studies on Alcohol and Drugs

April 25, 2017

London, UK. SAGE Publishing today announces that it has begun publishing the open access journal Nordic Studies on Alcohol and Drugs, in association with the Nordic Centre for Welfare and Social Issues.

With a particular focus on research from the Nordic region, Nordic Studies on Alcohol and Drugs addresses the impact of alcohol and drugs, as well as other related substances and behaviours, through the lens of social science inquiry. The journal has an international readership and publishes in English, Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish.

Editor in Chief, Kerstin Stenius, commented:

“Research on alcohol and drugs is of paramount importance to better understand how and why these substances are used in order to be able to implement policies and procedures to influence behaviors and improve population health. We are delighted to bring our highly specialized journal to SAGE Publishing where, alongside their strong portfolio of allied health and social welfare content, we look forward to seeing the continued development and global success of the journal.”

Miranda Nunhofer, Executive Director, Humanities and Social Science Journals, SAGE Publishing, also remarked:

“A highly specialized publication, Nordic Studies on Alcohol and Drugs publishes high quality research in the developing field of addiction studies, fitting well with our existing health and social welfare journal and book content. We look forward to working together with the editors and the Nordic Centre for Welfare and Social Issues to develop the journals impact within the field even further.”
