SAGE to begin publishing the International Bulletin of Mission Research

December 2, 2015

London, UK. SAGE, a world leading independent and academic publisher, today announced that it is to begin publishing the International Bulletin of Mission Research (IBMR) in partnership with The Overseas Ministries Study Center (OMSC), as of January 2016. With in-depth analyses of worldwide Christianity and mission-focused book reviews, the IBMR is an unparalleled source of information on the world church in mission.

Reflecting on the journal’s transition, Dr Darrell L. Whiteman, IBMR’s Editor in Chief and Executive Director of OMSC, remarked:

“We are excited about this new partnership between OMSC and SAGE, a partnership that will not only support and increase the accessibility of the IBMR, but also increase its global discoverability. Under SAGE we are confident that the journal will go from strength to strength; its future is bright and promising as we work in partnership to develop and deliver the IBMR’s mission.”

Karen Phillips, Editorial Director, SAGE, additionally commented:

“SAGE has a strong portfolio of journals across theology and religion, and we are delighted to be working with the OMSC to support the dissemination of their research to a wider global audience. IBMR has established itself as a leading analytical forum of information on the world church in mission, and we look forward to further supporting its growth and developing this journal as part of our portfolio.”

OMSC and the IBMR editorial team are pleased to announce a slight change in the title of the journal: it is now the International Bulletin of Mission Research.  The word “missionary” has been replaced with “mission” to reflect the global shift in World Christianity.  Articles appearing in the International Bulletin of Mission Research are focused on the broad area of mission studies and missiology.
